Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic needed


Responsibilities:

  • The Heavy equipment mechanic in this class is responsible for field and shop skilled diagnostics, maintenance and repair of engines and hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems powering heavy duty equipment, including trucks, road construction and maintenance machinery and vehicles, medium and light weight equipment, and high-performance engines. 
  • Performs equipment and electrical troubleshooting to test operational efficiency of engines and drive train, hydraulic and exhaust systems, etc. and determines the cause(s) of malfunction(s). 
  • Prescribes and performs emergency repairs to equipment in the field. May provide lead work direction to other mechanics, semiskilled or unskilled workers and may direct shop operations in absence of supervisor.


Educational and Experience Requirement:
• Basic criteria would be a mechanic trade certificate with at least 4-6 years practicing as a trained CAT based mechanic in a construction based environment only
• Experienced Skilled field and shop heavy equipment repair and maintenance work experience is an advantage.

Salary: N300,000 - N500,000 monthly

JAMB Fixes Admission Cut-off Marks for 2017/2018 Academic Session

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Tuesday fixed the cut-off marks for admission into higher institutions of learning in the country for the 2017/2018 academic session. At a policy meeting held with the heads of institutions and other education regulatory bodies in Abuja, the examination body ratified 120 as the minimum mark for degree-awarding institutions. The meeting at the National Judicial Institute, Abuja, had in attendance vice chancellors, Rectors, Provosts and Registrars of tertiary institutions. For the polytechnics, the lowest mark that qualifies a candidate for admission is 100, while the highest that an institution can fix is 180. Same mark applies to Colleges of Education. The admission cut-off mark for Innovative Enterprise Institutions ranges between 110 and 120.
