Vacancy exist for the role of Head of Financial Performance, Reporting and Funding
JOB PURPOSE:
To coordinate the
financial activities of the Group of Companies (including planning, budgeting,
forecasting and fund sourcing) ensuring the cost-effective utilization of
organization’s resources so as to yield optimal returns on investments.
ORGANISATIONAL
RELATIONSHIPS:
REPORTS
TO: Chief Finance Officer/ Deputy Managing Director
DIRECT
REPORTS: Entire Finance Department
KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø Develops
annual plans and budgets for the Finance department to support the achievement
of the corporate strategy
Ø Develops,
updates, and implements financial and accounting policies, procedures, and strategies
across the organization.
Ø Advises
Executive management to changes in financial regulations, legislation as well
as changes in competition and market trends.
Ø Establishes
and maintains accounting practices to ensure accurate and reliable data is
available for business operations and planning.
Ø Provides
financial advice on the organization’s short, medium and long term cash, funding,
and risk situation to Executive management.
Ø Coordinates
the preparation of the corporate budget and supports Heads of departments in
the formulation of cost management measures.
Ø Develops
and implements a robust and reliable financial reporting system for the
organization.
Ø Ensures
effective management of the organization’s financial resources, and compliance
with annual Budgets.
Ø To
provide effective analytical and cost accounting support for the organization’s
operations.
Ø To
effectively manage all payable and receivable accounts to ensure the availability
of funds to finance business operations.
Ø To
ensure the accurate recording of financial transactions, and the prompt
reconciliation of all accounts.
Ø Develops
and manages relationships with relevant external bodies/ contacts e.g.
regulatory organizations, Auditors, Solicitors, Banks, Investors etc.
Ø Liaises
with External and Internal Auditors for the smooth performance audit operations,
and deals with any queries from the Auditors.
Ø Advises
the Board and management on liquidity, investment and financial asset management.
Ø Manages
key banking relationships to facilitate proper, timely and cost- effective funding
of business operations.
Ø Implements
and ensures compliance with the accounting policies and procedures of the group
in line with financial regulatory standards.
Ø Oversees
the preparation and communication of timely, accurate, and useful financial and
management reports for investors, lending institutions and the Board of
Directors on a periodic and /or ad-hoc basis.
Ø Coordinates
the preparation and consolidation of statutory annual accounts and ensures
compliance with all accounting and reporting requirements set out in the
Companies & Allied Matters Act.
Ø Ensure
that all statutory requirements for the Organization are met including
charitable status, withholding payments, Income Tax etc.
Ø Provide
accurate and timely reporting on the financial activity of individual projects.
Ø Managing
the department efficiently.
Ø Any
other duties assigned by the CFO.
KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: SKILLS AND
COMPETENCIES
Ø
Good knowledge of finance and accounting systems
and practices.
Ø
Proficiency in the use of relevant computer
applications for financial reporting.
Ø
Budgeting, financial forecasting and cost
control.
Ø
Investment planning and portfolio management.
Ø
Financial reporting and Tax planning/management
Ø
Strong project management skills.
Ø Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Ø Presentation and communication skills.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:
Ø A
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance-related discipline.
Ø MBA with
specialty in Finance would be an added advantage.
Ø Relevant
professional certifications e.g. Chartered Financial Analyst, Institute of
Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified and Chartered
Accountants (ACCA).
Ø 12-15 years
post graduation experience, 5 of which must have been in a Management position
interfacing with Executive Team and Financial Partners.
