Mill Buyer Vacancy in a Multinational Company



A multinational Company with presence in more than 143 countries, is looking to hire a Mill Buyer for her Lagos, Nigeria Office.


Role Overview:

The incumbent is responsible for the procurement of all materials, equipment and services required by the Mill, which is not purchased on a corporate wide basis.  These purchases require the exercise of independent judgment and/or functional work direction of department members to ensure the combination of quality, service and price is optimized.  Also responsible for Vendor quality Management Programs & Partnerships to support the business and production.

Generic Standards:

Effective communication & Negotiation skills.Ability to analyse supplier pricing information & data into financial impact on KC business.Manage self- developmentIntegration with the broader teamGood understanding of Production & Engineering Environment

Functional Standards:

In depth knowledge of a computerized purchasing / accounts payable system, preferably SAPThorough understanding of operations (engineering stores)and purchasing processesSupplier Service level agreements and supply contractsDecision making skills

Required Qualifications / Experience:


  • Position requires tertiary qualification (M+3) in Purchasing or Logistics / Accounting (at least 2 years completed);
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience within a purchasing function;
  • Experience working with an FMCG will be an added advantage
